Africana: the Encyclopedia of the African and African American Experience

With more than 4,000 articles by more than 400 scholars, this five volume set covers an immense variety of topics. In addition to country profiles, histories, and biographies, the work includes entries for African ethnic groups, fauna, flora, geographical features, popular culture, the arts, literature, music, and ideological movements. Approximately one third of the work concentrates on the African diaspora. Also includes over 1,000 photographs, maps, and illustrations.
