Brief profiles of banks and companies whose original identities have been lost through merger, acquisition, dissolution, bankruptcy, or name change since 1927. Each company listing indicates how the company became obsolete, the new name of the company (if any), and the date the action occurred. When possible, an indication is made if the stock still has some value. Less comprehensive source is the CCH's Capital Change Reporter.

The Government Finance Statistics database, issued by the International Monetary Fund, contains data on revenue, expense, and transactions in assets and liabilities for the general government sector and its subsectors, such as military expenses or tax revenue. The time series present annual combined statistics on detailed revenues and expenditures for all levels of government. Topics covered include deficit/surplus or total financing, revenues or grants, expenditures, lending minus repayments, domestic financing, foreign financing, domestic debt or total debt, and foreign debt.
